Paradise in Portugal

What a despicable place!! And I'm not talking about the fact that it's incredibly remote and has no amenities, but about the people in charge. The owner is truly a horrible and unpleasant person. Sometimes people aren't defined by their physical appearance, but by who they are. And by that definition, I don't know if this man can even be called a person. Honestly, the experience at this place was beyond terrifying. Please don't give your money to those who don't deserve it!!! There are thousands of places that truly offer peace and tranquility, and this is definitely not one of them!!

Wow! I had such a peaceful, nurturing stay here! The lodge is absolutely beautiful, the owners planted a garden to attract birds so you can see and hear loads of them! I came in April and there were flowers everywhere with the scent of jasmine… so dreamy! You come here to have a relaxing stay, watch the birds, swim in the lake, there are paddles and boats you can use for free. It’s a family business so there’s a very nice homey vibe, everyone eats dinner together at the table. I will be back with all my friends! 🩵

If you want to be off the beaten track and just relax, the Quinta is the place for you. It is set far away from touristy places in the Alentejo, right at the Albufeira da Barragem de Santa Clara, a wonderful lake. The quinta itself is set in a beautiful garden and offers cute rooms, each with its own little outside space and view of the lake. You can go swimming, watch birds and just relax. Both Frank and Daniella managed to create this wonderful place and make you feel at home. And if you are into birding, Frank offers tours and advise and you can go visit the two bird hides he built, one at the Quinta, the other close to Santa Clara a Velha.

Such an amazing location to relax for a couple of days.. the lake is lovely and refreshing.. we spent there 4 days with our kids.. the owners are super sweet and relaxed!
